That's right you guys, we have released our butterflies!
It happens that we had only 3 of the butterflies emerge this year which was fine with us since we didn't really know what to expect. One of the 3 was actually injured upon arriving though and ended up dying in the habitat so we were quite sad about that. Overall though it was an amazing experience and I still plan on doing it every year with Bentley so he can learn and watch while having lots of fun!
With the 4th of July and all the craziness we weren't able to make the group release and I decided to just go ahead and release them in our back yard today so maybe we'll see more in the future! I was sad that we didn't get to see a big swarm of butterflies taking off, but I still had a lot of fun and so did Bentley.
