Secret Blogger Swap Reveal!

I was so excited to get my Secret Blogger Swap package in the mail today!
After having a rough couple of days Natalie from Discoveries Of Self really brightened up my night!
First off I thought it was amazing how she wrapped the products in a scarf.. It made if feel luxurious and fun! :) When I opened it up my mouth just fell open in excitement!
I received these three lipsticks.. I have to say that I wanted to get more for quite some time but was scared. I loved how she picked one red and the other two are very neutral and shimmery.
As you can see by these swatches, they are very fun and everyday lip colors. I also like how they aren't sticky like other lipsticks I have tried! :) I'll be sure to post pictures soon with me actually wearing them on my lips! EXCITED!!
Natalie also gave me samples of things that I normally wouldn't get. I have been dying to try Estee Lauder foundation but am too chicken to just buy it. These samples will let me know if I am up for boosting my foundation! I also love anything Clinique so yippe!!

As you know I have been a crazy person with nail polishes lately.. She got me a nail balm (purple box) that is supposed to promote healthy nails and cuticles. Can't wait to try this out! Since I have gnawed my nails down to the nub I think I need a little boast in the healthy department!
LOOK AT ALL THE NAIL POLISH!!!!!! I can't even describe how excited I am to use these.. I may even paint each of my nails one of the colors since they are all so much fun! I also love love love that she got me Beauty UK items since I live in the US and can't just walk to a UK store! The eye shadow palette is something that I would go straight to at a store.. I love dark colors!
Ooohhh and coffee.. Do I even have to emphasize on this? ;) Before I even took these pictures I opened up this bag and made my self a delectable pot of coffee.. YUM!

I also received some Vanilla Coco bubble bath, but before I could get my camera out, my husband stole it! That man and his relaxation.. At least we can both enjoy it! :)

Thank you again to Natalie for sending me such amazing items! And also to Danielle from Framed Frosting for one putting this Blogger Swap together and two, for being such an amazing friend to me through all my tough times. I love her! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful night and rest of your week.. Hoping the weekend comes fast!

Why?

Alright you guys..
So this post will probably be one of the very few I will be posting right now.
I am just here to apologize in advance for being a bad blogger.

You may have seen some of my Twitter and Facebook posts recently saying that I'm praying for families or that I'm just to emotional to do anything.. Well I guess it's time to just let it out...

Yesterday there was a very bad accident.
There were many people involved that I know... Some of these people are now gone forever... Two of those people are holding on for their lives as I write this..
I guess it really was Memorial day for some people.

Again I am sorry if I am MIA, but I think I deserve to have some time to grieve and be there for my friends and their families.

Tea & Honey!

Influencer Disclosure
I was given a free product or sample because I'm a Klout influencer. I am under no obligation to receive the sample or talk about this company. I get no additional benefits for talking about the product or company.

Today I want to talk to you about a lovely product that I got to try thanks to Klout Perks! I received Lipton's Tea & Honey To-Go samples in Mango Pineapple just the other day in the mail and I have to say that I am totally in love with this product!
As you know I have been on a journey through weigh loss and with that come eating healthy and making good choices every day. With Lipton's Tea & Honey To-Go Packs. I am getting the benefits of Green Tea in a yummy 5 calorie beverage! It's defiantly a lovely switch from just plain old water!
I mean come on.. 5 calories for 8 oz!! That's amazing!! It's been the perfect solution for me when I'm needing something sweet!

I would recommend this product to anyone who is in need of a yummy, low calorie drink to switch things up! I love the Mango Pineapple flavor, but they also make them in Blackberry Pomegranate.

Go grab yourself a pack of to-go's or pitcher size and let me know how you like them! :)

P to the S... Join Klout! It's so amazing!!

I wish my name was Alice!

Well hello my friends!
I'm sorry I've been kind of MIA on the interweb this last couple of days. I've been so entangled in working out, being a mommy, and getting my GED certificate that I haven't really been caring about my blog or social media sites (and I actually didn't miss it very much).
BUT I thought I would show you something fun!

I recently have signed up for a little mug swap on Bonnie's Blog Bonn Bonn Botique in which I got paired up with the lovely Stacie to swap coffee mugs!
I have to say that I wish I would have put a little more thought into the cup that I sent her even though I personally loved it, but her's just totally out did mine! She got me a Mad Hatter mug from Disney World!!! How freakin' cool right!!! :) I am such a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland to begin with that this was just perfect.. And hey, now I have a reason to act like a total freak. I can just blame it on my Mad Hatter mug! :P

Have you had an adventure today? Christina's Takeover!

And the takeover continues with Christina at Tico and Tina! Enjoy her awesomeness! :D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever laid on a blanket under a bright blue summer sky and found the pictures in the cotton candy clouds? I love to imagine landscapes with rivers and trees and mountains. Try it! You might be surprised what you can see when you look :) Imagination, uninhibited creativity, dreams... these are all things that are a part of most children's daily life, but somewhere along the way to growing up most of us seem to lose much of it.
The reality of daily life has a way of squashing our will to keep going, or in many cases to even try to begin with... it's just so much easier to live in the status quo!
My husband (who I affectionately call Mr. D) and I really want to raise our kids to look at life as an adventure, and to keep that mentality as they grow up. We want them to have an "out-of-the-box" perspective.
I think one of the most important things to living a life of adventure is having an attitude of flexibility. Life is going to be super crazy sometimes, and we either have to roll with the punches or get knocked flat.
Between midnight restaurant runs, spontaneous road trips, and winters in Costa Rica, our kids are getting quite a dose of flexibility training, LOL.

But the truth is, adventure is not just about travel or doing crazy things. Adventure is a mindset.

When your car breaks down on the side of the road and makes you late for an important meeting you can be super pissed and let it ruin your day, OR you can be thankful that it's 2012 and cell phones have already been invented. If your cell phone happens to be dead, well, figuring out what you do next? Definitely adventure material. You can be sure I'd be writing the blog post in my head as it unfolded. Kinda like I did when we got in a very unfortunate situation on this day.
We've chosen a motto for our life based on our BlankCanvas cards that Katlyn posted about here on her blog a while back.
Life is a blank canvas - paint an adventure!
We only have one chance to live today. Let's make it a beautiful paint stroke on the blank canvas of our life! (I'm really not a cheesy person, I promise! :)

I love my work outs! :)

It's been a little over a week since I have started my fitness journey and I am happy to share with you some of my progress!

The main things that I have been doing are running and Zumba. I have also cut out soda completely and drinking tons of water! Makes me feel GREAT!!! We are also taking the steps in having healthier, more nutritious foods in our house. Farmers markets here we come!

Here are my measurements:

Arms: 11 1/2 inches
Bust: 34 1/2 inches
Upper Waist: 30 inches
Natural Waist: 37 1/2 inches
Hips/Butt: 39 1/2 inches
Thighs: 22 1/2 inches

That Saucy Idahoan. Annelise's Takeover!

HELLO buddies of Katlyn!
I'm here to take over her blog for the day...
I hope you don't mind.
My name is Annelise.
I blog over at Aunie Sauce.
When people ask me to describe my blog,
I honestly hardly know what to say. I'm not crafty. I don't DIY. I'm not a mama to any cute little babies. So, now you may be asking yourself, what in the haystack do I blog about anyway? Well... I'll tell you. I tend to show off lots of photos of my style (or occasional lack thereof), I talk about my baby bearded dragon named Dobby, I write little poems, and I tend to just talk about the daily happenings that are all things Aunie. So... in general, it's just a saucy little Idahoan's perspective on life. Now doesn't that just sound enthralling? If I haven't totally captivated you, maybe you should just head on over there and check me out. You'll never know what you may find!

My First Big DIY Project.... Monique's Takeover!

I'm Monique of "a creative girl, living in a country world" blog, as well as owner of Ajih Creations and this is my post on one of my recent projects.

I like unique items when it comes to almost anything, and had been on the look out for a stand or shelving of some kind that would fulfill that need for the living room.  I had at one time seen some nice step stools at IKEA (see below), and thought if I bought three and secured them together that would be a unique piece.  But never was totally committed to that idea.

IKEA Step Stool

So, as I continued my search I was then invited to my husband’s cousin’s new home for a barbeque.  Now, I had no idea that there is where I’d find my hidden treasure and it goes a little something like this.

The ladies were on the front porch conversing after eating, and I noticed this unique stand sitting on the porch.  It was perfect and what I had been looking for.  It happened to be a slat wooden flower stand.  As I stood around and looked at her several times, with her cob webs in the corners and the wear that was visible seen, I made my move and asked my husband’s cousin if she was planning on doing anything with this.  She said, "No, do you want it?"  I immediately said, yes and that it was leaving with me that day.  She laughed, because she knew I was serious and that evening my baby came home with me and the project was about to begin.

Initially, I had to clean her off because she had been sitting on that porch for years.  So, I soaped her down with a wash cloth and sprayed her off with the hose.  I knew I was going to have several days of sunshine, so after I sat her out until she was completely dry.  I knew that I wanted to paint her a shade of red, but wasn’t sure what shade to do.  So,
several days later, my Mom came for a visit and we were sitting on the porch where she was.  She said, "Where did you get that from?"  I told her the story, and she then said that it was unique.  I told her I wanted to paint it red, and she stated that she had some red pant in a dark hue.  I told her that I wanted it.

Because of the way the stand was made and how many slats it had, it was going to take some time getting it painted.  I purchased two packs of foam pain brushes from the Dollar Tree, in order to get the paint in the tiny spaces along the slats and get the paint evenly distributed.

Dollar Tree Foam Paint Bruches

It took me an entire weekend to get the stand painted and repainted, so that there was no spot missed and the color was rich.  Didn't she turn out wonderful!

Finished project
Thank you goes to Katlyn for allowing me to guest post on her blog!
