Blog Angels Reveal Link Up!

It's that time already, and hasn't it flown by! Today we find out all about our Blog Angels, who they have helped, what they have been doing and how it has effected their experience of blogging. If you are new to the site and wondering what it's all about, you can catch up here and here.
When you link up today, remember to visit your blogger's site and leave them a little message to introduce yourself. I am sure they will enjoy reading about all of the behind the scenes goodness you have been up to. If you missed the email I sent around, here's what you could include in your post:
  • Who have you been an Angel for? Who are they? What is their site like?
  • What have you been trying to do to connect with them?
  • What was it like being a Blog Angel? What did you enjoy/dislike? What would you do differently? What did you learn from the experience?

I have really enjoyed running Blog Angels with Katlyn this month and have decided that it will return in August and be open to the first 100 people who sign up.  The form will be published on Craftbotic and Dreamy Meadow on 14th July - so save the date!

I will be on holiday until the 23rd July in Spain, so can you please email Katlyn with any queries until that date.  I will then allocate you a blog angel when I am back from sunning myself before the 27th July so that you can start spreading the love from the 1st-31st August.

Hugs as always,

Rosie & Katlyn xo

Who I've Been Angeling!

It's reveal time!
So as you know Rosie and I have been hosting a fun inspirational blog link up called 'Blog Angels'. It has been a month since this has started and I cannot tell you how much fun it has been! This month I actually got to take part in angeling a blogger. I haven't been much help in the organizational part of it since Rosie didn't want me to find out who my angel was but I have been having so much fun!

Do you want to know who my blogger is? I know I'm excited to tell you!!! Well her name is Christine and she is the face behind the amazing blog The DIY Dreamer. I actually followed her blog before I was assigned as her angel so it was a lot of fun to get to know her even more than I did. I can say that we have become really good friends in the last month and I can't wait to have our friendship go even further!
So what have I been doing for her? Well I've had a tough time with it actually. I had lots of different things that I wanted to do but didn't know how to be sneaky about giving them to her and too nervous to cross a line and blowing my cover. I did however tweet about her posts as much as I could, commented on as many posts as I could, sponsored her lovely blog, and gave her a featured spot on mine. I guess I just didn't know what else to do for her. I wanted to make her buttons or social media icons but I like her blog as a whole and didn't want to send them to her and her to think "oh well did they not like what I did to my blog and are trying to change it?" Because I really really love her blog how it is! If she does want help though or to see what I come up with I hope she asks me!! Overall I had an amazing experience being an angel. I just hope she was satisfied with what little I did for her because I love her lots! :) Again I encourage you to go and check this chica out! You'll have lots of fun with her too, I promise!

The Journey of True Beauty - Part 2

There has been a lot of anticipation for this post from a lot of my readers, so I thought that I would share with you part 2 of my baby butterflies journey! If you have missed part 1 make sure to check it out!

Last time I only got to show you the caterpillars so it wasn't too much fun, but this time you get to see the transformation!
We started off with the caterpillars attaching themselves to the paper that was on the underside of the lid of the cup that they came in. Once all of them had attached I transferred them from the cup to their habitat. All I had to do was tape the paper inside the pop up that will be their new home!

We then just had to wait for our butterflies to start emerging! Two of them actually came out when we were asleep on Monday night. The third had emerged yesterday and we got to watch. The third little guy had quite a hard time getting out. He actually had part of his little bum ripped off in all the anticipation of starting his new life. I think he's going to be alright though. His backside is looking better already!
We have three beautiful Panted Lady Butterflies out and Bentley is loving them (as you can see) but I'm still hoping that the other two will emerge and be apart of this amazing little journey! We are waiting for a release date to be picked as well so they can have a chance to get out into this world and explore! Butterflies actually only live for up to 4 weeks! I will be sure to take tons of pictures for you when we get all the butterflies together. There are almost 30 families taking part and each family got between 5-10 caterpillars. It's going to be so much fun to see all of the butterflies take off together!

I hope that you all have been having as fun of a week as we have! And I hope you are enjoying the journey to true beauty with us! Have an awesome Friday! :)

How you doin'?

As you can tell I haven't been posting as much as I normally do.
I guess I could just say that I've been a little out of it and focusing on other things rather than sitting on my butt all day. I miss you guys though so I thought I'd do a little post to tell you what I've been up to in the last couple of weeks!

Between going to Everett and looking for places to live (which I don't even know what's going on anymore) and having tons of not so fun doctors appointments not everything was fun but I did get to read a lot thanks to my new Kindle Fire and also have a few butterflies flying around our habitat! I cannot wait for more to come out so I can share with you their little transformations!

I have been having tons of fun getting to know the ladies in the bloggy book club as well! I cannot tell you how extremely happy it is making me feel to know that people really are interested in reading books and reviewing them with me. I want to thank all the ladies that are being so awesome with their participation and efforts! You are truly amazing for making my little brain child on my blog getting up there in the successful end! I also can't wait to see what the next featured title is going to be, but that's not for a couple more weeks.

I guess there's not much more for me to say.. I'm a rather boring person, eh? I swear I have been doing more in the last two weeks, but maybe it's just because I'm so focused on Bentley and watching him excel that I just don't realize that we're just staying at home. Oh well! I think that's a pretty good excuse for not being on all the time. Oh! I will also be enrolling in college NEXT MONDAY!!! I'm rather nervous...Wish me luck?  I guess I'll talk to you later though. Have a great day!

Bloggy Book Club - Week 2 - 50 Shades of Grey

Another week of Bloggy Book club is in our paths and we are so excited to get into the groove of things!
Last week was super fun and I hope that people continue to participate with us!
*Again we want to remind people that there may be some adult content in these posts so please use your own discretion when reading these posts!*

One announcements that we would like to announce as well is about the Facebook chats that will be going on every week on Tuesdays at 12:00 pm PST! This is a way for all of us to get to know each other better so we are comfortable when the Google+ hangout comes! We understand that being in a video chat can be overwhelming and scary so we want to get to know each and every one of you better before that time comes! We're here to make friends!

Okay, now let's get to the good stuff! The discussion questions for this week!

"Ana seems to be weak but yet is argumentative with Christian. Do you feel as if the author was to draw here a backbone and make her appear to be stronger in Christians eyes? Do you feel that by her doing so Ana's innocence was lost a bit?"

AND

"What are your feeling about Christian Grey's ever changing personalities?"

I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about the book so far! Also let us know how far in the book you are! That's always very helpful when in a book club so we can try not to spoil anything for you guys! Also remember to link up your posts and submit anymore entries that you can via Rafflecoptor!

Discussion Posts:

It's time for a discussion!

It's that time of the week again my sweets! That's right, it's time to talk about Fifty Shades of Grey!
To start out I want to apologize in advance for any negative feelings that anyone may feel about my opinions in these posts. I am sorry that I did not address this in last weeks post and that some people don't agree but they are my opinions and I think that I have a right to talk about them as do you! :)

Now let me get down to the nitty gritty!

"Ana seems to be weak but yet is argumentative with Christian. Do you feel as if the author was to draw here a backbone and make her appear to be stronger in Christians eyes? Do you feel that by her doing so Ana's innocence was lost a bit?"
I think that Ana's innocence and personality was a bit lost in this book. I feel that James went back and forth between Ana being shy and blushing to her being a total wild animal with Christian. Totally not how a virgin, goody two shoes would act in the real world in my eyes.  I think the effect of it all and how the story line was  laid out, that it did work in some instances though. I would have rather just had her be either an innocent virgin or experienced and aggressive.

"What are your feeling about Christian Grey's ever changing personalities?"
This is where my real interest in this book developed. The whole psychology of everything that was going on with Christian and his life. The mystery of it all intrigued me and kept me reading. I feel that his 'fifty shades of fucked up' were perceived in the right light at times and that they could have been stressed a bit more, but hey I still enjoyed it. I also think that Ana referenced the 'fifty shades' way too much in the book though. I mean I got it the first time but thanks for reminding me a million times!

Last week I was so caught up in the book and how I enjoyed it that I wasn't really understanding why people were saying that the writing wasn't good or things of that nature. Now that I have read the reviews from my fellow club members as well as digging deep within myself to get my opinion out there I have really come to notice that a good chunk of the book was just fillers with Ana saying the same things over and over. Overall though I am satisfied! :) I can't wait to hear all of your opinions as well!

HAVE FUN with the Blog Hop!

You can have best friends in blog land!

Hey guys!
Today I want you to meet someone truly special to me. We have recently become really close friends here in Blog Land and she is one amazing woman! I hope you all love her as much as I do!!!

Let me introduce you to the lovely Christine from The D.I.Y. Dreamer. Isn't she pretty!
I'm Christine... I'm a full-time Mom, Wife, Blogger and The D.I.Y. DREAMER!!! I have two sweet little ladies in my life.. Gabrielle and Emanuelle. With Gabrielle starting school and Emanuelle being so young... my husband and I decided that it would best if I stayed at home instead of going back into the work force after finishing my maternity leave. I worked for 11 years in the promotional items industry HOWEVER.. I always dreamed of being at home with my kids. I'm so happy where I am in life.. I honestly couldn't ask for more.

In order for you all to get a little taste of why she's in Blog Land with us, I asked her some questions and here is what she said...

What do you want to get out of blogging?
I want to inspire others to do what they love!! I want to help them create something and to be proud of it.

What inspires you?
Everything inspires me... my family.. my friends.. my surroundings.. colors.. textures..

Would you recommend going to blog conventions?
I have never attended a blog convention. I would probably attend one if there was one near by, however I don't see myself traveling to go to one... not at this point anyways. However, if there was an online convention.. that would be awesome!

Why did you start blogging?
I've always ADORED everything that is creative and colorful! I needed a place as an outlet for my creativeness... and that's when The D.I.Y. Dreamer was born!!

Want to know even more about Christine? Well check out her social media links and make sure to go check out her blog! You'll love her, I promise!

Bloggy Book Club - Week 1 - 50 Shades of Grey

Welcome to round two of Bloggy Book Club!
We are very excited to be getting started with the featured title, Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James and hope that you enjoy it as much as us! This featured title will go for 6 weeks meaning it will begin today, June 19th and end on July 24th. We ask that you participate in as many of the posts as possible to make it fun and for us to get to know each of you a little better!

I would also like to say that with this book, I recommend that you are no younger than 18. We will although try to keep it as family friendly as we can.
*There my be some adult content in these posts!*

Shall we get onto the good stuff? I think so!

With each week you are welcomed to get an entry into our giveaway for a $10 Amazon gift card.
Please note that we are using Rafflecopter and since this goes over a 6 week period you CANNOT submit all of the entries in the first week. The same widget is being used without to collect the entries so just do the ones you can each week! Be sure to link up! :)

And of course this wouldn't be a book club without some questions about the book. This is what I would like you to answer in your link up post...
"There has been some pretty 'harsh' thoughts about this book, saying God will be ashamed of you if you lay your eyes upon the pages of this book due to some graphic scenes between Ana and Christian. Do you agree or disagree with this? Does it matter to you how these people are feeling? How do these thoughts and feeling make you feel?"

AND

"Ana seems to be bewildered with the thought of Christian Grey and all that he is the the begining chapters of this novel. How do you think her reaction about his physical appearance and self awareness of himself was depicted? Did you feel as if Christian Grey was amused by her inexperience with interviews or simply intrigued with where she was going next?"

We cannot wait to hear what you all have to say! Remember, we can discuss the book via Facebook as we go through it! Have fun and remember to nominate a book for round three!!!

Discussion Link Up:

I Jumped on the Bandwagon..

Do a little dance! Why? Because it's round 2 of book club you guys!
I am sorry for the anticipation for this round to start since we have a very popular book as the featured title right now, Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James"
I actually thought I would need the week in between featured titles to be able to organize everything and clear my head of the other book, but I actually found myself wanting to start talking about it right away!

Because I am one of the hosts in this wonderful club we have started, I thought I should go forth and read the book before we actually start talking about it since everyone reads at their own pace and I want to know what you all are talking about so I can comment better and really get into discussions! I think that if I myself can talk to you and share my opinions better, that this book club will become even better!

We didn't really have the most wonderful turn out for round 1, but I was still impressed with some of the posts that were created to share! I hope that it was just a non interest in the book that we were reading and that from here forward we can have books that really interest people in the nomination pool! Please please please link up and participate! It's so much fun when we can communicate via blogs and on Facebook! You can even start a little disagreement about a book if you didn't like it! I just love to hear all of your opinions!!!

Any ways.. Let's get down to the nitty gritty of this post shall we?
Starting off, I want to say that when Fifty Shades of Grey was announced as the featured title I was a little nervous. At the same time as we announced it there were many posts going around saying negative things about the book and it just wasn't sitting well with me. I was intrigued to read it though so I jumped on the bandwagon! I hope you are liking it as much as I am!

Here are the questions that I have come up with for this week...

Okay first of all I am thinking to myself, who are these people to come out and post things about the things I can and cannot do? To me they are just being judgmental and telling me that God judges you which I do NOT think is true. If god is going to judge me for reading a book with sex scenes in it be by golly I'm already going to hell for things that I have already done in my life. I totally disagree with how these people and find it very hurtful for them to judge us like this. To me this book is more of an evolving love story than something all about sex.

"Ana seems to be bewildered with the thought of Christian Grey and all that he is in the begining chapters of this novel. How do you think her reaction about his physical appearance and self awareness of himself was depicted? Did you feel as if Christian Grey was amused by her inexperience with interviews or simply intrigued with where she was going next?"
I personally thought she was quite hilarious when she was interviewing Christian. I would have probably been the same way (clumsy, nervous, stupid) if my friend would have thrown me into a similar situation. I mean come on Christian Grey is a Greek God in the eyes of many people in this novel so of course you'd be thrown off guard if you just all of a sudden had to interview him! I thought that Christian was both amused and intrigued. I don't think he was really used to people acting like she did when interviewing him so it caught him off guard a little bit. Some of the questions and her forwardness was quite funny in my eyes as well! I wish I could be that forth coming with people!

I can't wait to see how many people participate this week and to hear their take on these questions! Have fun and be honest!

The Journey of True Beauty - Part 1

Family traditions are wonderful experiences in my opinion.
They teach you so many things and you always have something to look forward to.

That being said, I would like to introduce you to my families 1st annual butterfly raise and release event! This whole idea was created by a lovely woman named Renee. She lives in my town and started this event for us. She has done it with her family for many years now and has decided to share the fun and make it a community event. How cool right?!  You're probably wondering what all we are doing though, so let me explain to you the steps that have been taken.

I was told of this event from my close friend Jennifer (you have seen her a lot in the past posts) who asked me if I wanted to do this event with her in order for it to not be as awkward since we both didn't know anyone. I of course said yes and joined the Facebook group with all the information on it right away. We then had the choice to send Renee money via Paypal in order to get all the caterpillars sent at once so they were the same age or to order them ourselves off of Insect Lore. I just went with the group as I saw this the easiest option. With our caterpillars we also got a pop up butterfly garden and instructions on how to transfer and feed the butterflies. They were ordered on June 1st and they arrived in less than a week at Renee's house!

In each kit (cup) you get 5 caterpillars. Insect Lore guarantees that at least 3 of the 5 will turn into beautiful Pained Lady Butterflies.

As you can tell it looks pretty yummy in that cup! In that little cup is the 5 caterpillars, all the food they need in order to get ready to cocoon, their little poos (I know ew), and there are also tons of little silk threads running everywhere! It's actually very cool to watch as they eat and crawl up the sides.

On the underneath side of the lid there is a little piece of paper where the caterpillars attach their bums to and then cocoon themselves. Once they are all securely attached and cocooned you simply take the lid off, slide out the paper and either tape or pin the paper to the inside of your pop up butterfly house. In a matter of no time you will have butterflies! But we aren't that far yet! They just started to attach themselves to the top so we still get to watch them cocoon and be awesome!

I cannot believe how amazing it is to watch bugs.. Plus Bentley thinks they are the coolest things ever! He's really good at just looking and pointing and not trying to grab, shake, or throw the cup! I'm so proud of him! We are actually thinking of getting other bugs as well including Ants and Praying Mantis'! Don't worry I will share those with you when the time comes!

Be on the look out for part two! It may take a bit since I want to share the whole cocoon pinning, to when they are actually butterflies. Then we'll have a release post as well! :)

Happy Monday!

The 411 on the Q&A Vlog Link Up!

Have you heard about the big news?
Yes I'm talking about the Q&A Link Up that I'm hosting!
This originally started with Danielle from Framed Frosting but I was delighted to take it over from her since she is such a busy gal.  I hope all of you that were planning on linking up with her will link up with me! :)

Okay so here's the low down...
You're probably asking yourself, "What on earth do I do in order to get questions to answer?"
Well, what I have done is I made a form on Google Docs to share via Twitter, Facebook, Email, and my blog! I put a total of 10 spots so people could ask me as many questions as they would like. Plus they can always fill it out a second time if they have more!

The link up post will go live on June 30th at 12:00 am PST
I am looking at getting some co-hosts in the mix as well so if you are interested, please comment or email me so I know to send an email to you!

I hope to see lots of you link up! This is going to be fun!
In the mean time I hope to find some of your Google Doc links and for you to ask me a few questions! Have fun!

Hangin' Out!

I was the baby of my family with two older brothers, yes I know.. Pray for me? Just kidding.
Anyways... When we all were still living at home my brothers would always have so many friends come over and they were all just so cool and easy to get along with! Plus what teenage girl doesn't like older, cuter, boys in her house!?
Well growing up around my brothers and their friends really put into my mind of how cool of a mom I wanted to be when I had children and how I wanted my kids to be super social and have lots of friends..
Well we're starting young here people!

I haven't exactally gotten Bentley together with too many kids just for the fact that I don't like if base housing and I'm not the most social person at times. I have although met my best friend Jennifer who happens to have a son close in age with Bent.

As you saw in my post yesterday, we went for a little adventure on Tuesday with the boys...
Here are some of the pictures of them on some fun rides and Chuck E Cheese's!
I am absolutely in love with the 4th picture (left to right and down) just because Bentley is doing his stinker, studly bear face! :D Oh how I love my son.
I cannot wait to go on more little adventures soon with Jennifer and Leif! We are actually planning on going to the Seattle Zoo for Leif's birthday and Build A Bear for Bentley's birthday! It's going to be so much fun!!!

I also had to share with you how cool Bentley and I are.. We both have Converse now!
He may look like a little clown in them, but hey.. they suit him!

I hope that you all are enjoying your week!
I can't wait to share more pictures with you of all the little adventures we go on.

Today my husband and I are actually going on a little motorcycle ride with a bunch of people.. I love riding on the back of my hubby's rocket.. Oh I'm so lucky to have such a sexy man.. Plus he has fun toys that we get to go on! :)

Check this chick out!

Hey everyone! My name is Danielle and I blog over at Framed Frosting. I am so thrilled to be here today to share with you a new project I've been working on!
About Me: I first began my blog in April of last year as a way to document the end of my high school years. Now it has evolved to be about all things fashion and beauty related. I love to bake too and am hoping to include some more recipes on the blog soon along with some fun DIY projects too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So a few weeks ago, I had this fabulous idea to combine my love for baking and typography. It just so happened to work out that my blog name, Framed Frosting, worked well with the new shop. I've been working on quite a few designs lately and I LOVED how they all turned out. So it got me thinking... I wonder if I could open my own shop? I figured I'd give it a try first over at Society6. This website is fabulous because they do ALL of the printing and shipping for you! This means that I have a lot more time to spend designing.
In my shop you'll find me selling recipe art prints like my favorite, Best Ever Banana Muffins, seen below. These recipes are ones straight from my own kitchen and are sure to be quite delicious when you make them! Everything from Gingersnap Cookies to Cashew Brittle and so much more!
I'm also selling a few home decor prints. My mission is to create every piece unique and make sure it has a simple, yet sophisticated look. I'm currently having a lot of fun with summertime beach prints.
Life is a Beach In the upcoming weeks, I'm hoping to launch my Storenvy shop where I'll be able to offer a lot more prints. I'll also be able to offer custom prints. These will be a little bit more expensive than a pre-made, but they will be much more personalized. You'll get to pick your quote or recipe and the colors you'd like me to use too. I plan on offering three sizes: 5x7s, 8x10s, and 11x14s. I asked Katlyn if I could make a custom print for her and she of course agreed! She told me her favorite color scheme and sent me her favorite quote. With those two things, this is what I made.

If you're interested in your own custom print, please find me on Twitter or send me an e-mail. I'd be more than happy to work on something for you. Just let me know what you have in mind. You can also find me blogging about fashion and lifestyle here or on Facebook too.

Blog Angels Half Way Link Up!

We are now half way through June! How did that happen? It also means we are half way through the Blog Angels project, where 75 people have been busy helping out each other secretly in blog land.  It's been amazing seeing all of the tweets and comments going on regularly as well as some of the awesome things made for the recipients.  Check back on 30th June to see people reveal who they have helped and how.  In the mean time, check out how people have felt about being a Blog Angel so far by visiting the links below. Don't forget to say hello while you are there!

If you are a Blog Angel link up your posts below between 15th-22nd June.  Remember not to say WHAT you have been doing or WHO you have been helping.  You could consider the following questions** to help you out with this:
  • What have you learnt about yourself from helping another blogger?
  • What has been the most fun thing about being a Blog Angel? What has been the most frustrating?
  • Has being a Blog Angel changed your approach to blogging? How?
  • How have you made time to help someone else out?
  • Have you been trying to work out who is helping you or are you more concerned with helping others?
  • How does being a Blog Angel affect your experience of blog land?
{**These are just suggestions**}

We are really excited to see what you have been up to!

Hugs,

Rosie & Katlyn xo

Blog Angel's Experience

Wowzers.. Can you believe that we are half way through the month of June?!
Totally unreal to me but also awesome because I get to read how everyone is liking and what they are doing for round 1of Blog Angels!

As you know Rosie and I have organized this little event for you all so we can pass the love that needs to be present in Blog Land! I was totally stoked that I got to participate in it this month while Rosie was lovely and coordinated most of it.. It will be the opposite for next month though since she's going to be on vacation in Spain (I'm so jealous!!!) Anyhow.. this post is all about the experience I am having with Blog Angels so far, pros and cons I suppose!

First off I have to say that I love being a Blog Angel to someone. It makes me feel so good to know that I may have made their days a little bit better because I wrote them a sweet comment, or gave them some Twitter love, or just shared some insight with them. Makes me feel complete!

I also have made such strong relationships with other bloggers because of this event. When I first started out blogging I wasn't really sure how to get my 'foot in the door' and make friends. I decided networking was my best option but I never truly had a good friend in Blog Land until I met Rosie! :) Blog Angels has taught me that other people are feeling the same way about reaching out to others and getting involved with everything going on. It feels good to know that I'm not alone over here with not knowing where to start!

Soooo... I have been trying to figure out who has been my Blog Angel and have a little bit of a clue to who it may be, but there are so many people being so sweet to me that I may be totally off, haha! I can't wait until the 30th to see who got me! :D

Hope you all are having an amazing experience with this as well!

It's good to be back!

 Friends..
Oh my relationships with friends has been quite something over the years. I have had those few really good friends that are still there for me, and then those not so good friends who just seem to disappear and do their own thing. That's okay though! It's part of life and everyone seems to go through it.

Well being a Navy wife has been something new for me to say the least. I'm not always the most social person, and I tend to not want to do anything besides sit in my house and feel sorry for myself because I don't have any friends. I have changed myself though and have gotten myself out there. With doing so I have met this lovely lady (look to the left). Her name is Jennifer and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to know her. Not only is she one of the sweetest people I have met, she has such a wonderful personality and she's a mama! Our sons get along so good and we love to go on little play dates! And that's exactly what we did on Wednesday!

After being in a crappy mood for most of the morning I decided that I just needed to get out. I texted Jennifer and told her that I was going to come steal her and Leif (her son) so we could go shopping in Burlington. Boy am I happy that we did it too! Not only did I get to spend time with my best friend, but Bentley go to spend time with his and I found some killer things at Goodwill!

For lunch we decided to treat the boys to some Chuck E Cheese's! They had so many cute rides and games that included getting their pictures taken, so I thought I would share some of the fun! :)
We tried to all get in on the sketching action of this game, but the boys just weren't having it.. After 2 attempts we just decided it wasn't worth the cries! It was still fun to see how they turned out though! :)
What have you been up to? I sure do miss hearing peoples personal stories just as much as I have missed writing them! Hope you all like the changes going on my blog! I know I'm having a blast getting out and about again rather than worrying about all the commitments I have in Blog Land! Have a great weekend! :)
